Alif is revolutionising our traditional concept of bookstores. We have worked closely with the Alif team to build a strategic brand that reflect their market values and principles.
In addition to creating an online space for its customers with a unique and innovative shopping experience yet easy to use.
We worked very closely with Alif and through workshops and extensive market research, we created their brand story and their core values.
Working on reflecting Alif’s core values we created the brand identity from scratch. Starting with the logo and the brand’s colors to designing the packaging. Our goal was to showcase the modern look and feel of the brand. Using Arabic calligraphy we showed our Arab culture. However, instead of using traditional Arabic font, we designed a bilingual wordmark logo to challenge the traditional image of a bookstore in our culture and to add a modern vibe.
We worked with Alif to design a world-class online shopping experience in Qatar that included designing an e-commerce website and native iOS & Android mobile Apps. As a result, online shopping has never been easier, quicker, and more engaging.
Alif offers its online services to both individual shoppers and corporates. The corporate journey is more specific, it provides access to companies to preorder items directly or via tendering and make them available to their internal staff to order.
We facilitated market research and analyzed competitors to develop seamless user journeys for corporate and business users.
Our interactive design focused on providing and easy and hassle-free shopping for both individual and corporate versions.
We designed and tested the wireframes to make sure that navigation and user journey are not interrupted in addition to focusing on the time it took to finalise an online order.
We included features such as notifications and personal recommendations in this app in order to bring the user an easy shopping experience and easy checkout, thus boosting Alif’s sales.
More and more consumers are making purchases from mobile devices. We ensure our website is always responsive across wide range of modern devices.
Mobile users not only have different views, but they have different behaviors. We addressed this with the mobile optimizations done specifically for the mobile/tablet views of the website.
In our modern days, most of Alif’s target audience prefer browsing and purchasing through their mobile phones, and that’s why we also developed native iOS and Android apps for the store.
Informed by extensive market & user research we framed the structure of the mobile application in order to ensure the best experience for the Alif shoppers on mobile devices.

3-step onboarding, tutorial, barcode scanner, apple wallet card are some of the special features we included for the mobile application.
At the same time, enhanced with the user-friendly in-app navigation and additional possibilities, such as comparison, in-depth search and sticky navigation the app carries the user through a smooth shopping experience and an easy checkout, and through that, boost Alif’s sales.
The final Alif Stores ecosystem brings a quick, easy, and painless experience to the offline and online shoppers in Qatar. Beyond our initial engagement, we’ve continued working with the Alif team and their development partners to design and implement more new features and improvements for the website and application.
